Position Summary:
Leads/manages the IT Teams responsible for the enterprise’s IT infrastructure.  This includes the company’s technical platforms (e.g. Windows, Unix, Mainframe), databases (e.g. Oracle, DB2 SQLServer), storage environment and various system software products and tools that reside on the platforms.  Works under general direction. Manages and mentors team of 55-60 with approximately $15 million of budget responsibility.

Essential functions as follows:

Responsible for managing and developing a team of 55-60 geographically dispersed technical professionals.Responsible for setting corporate direction / strategy for IT infrastructure in complex multi utility environment.  Responsible for the delivery of corporate projects requiring IT Infrastructure support.Responsible for meeting service levels, maintaining production systems including lifecycle maintenance planning and managing day to day IT operations. Responsible for identifying new and better ways to apply technology for use within Energy East.  Responsible for identifying operational efficiencies to help lower costs.

 

Position Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering and Business or another related field, along with seven years of management experience within an a technical setting.  Higher level degrees are also preferred.  The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate their leadership skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with excellent problem solving skills.  In addition, the right candidate will have working knowledge of different technologies and their applications, metrics, project planning and strong program management.  Working knowledge of SAP technical environment preferred.  This position also requires the ability to travel for the company as needed.
