Our company is in search of a Director, Financial Reporting and Controls to work in our in our Kansas City home. Major aeas of accountability for the position include:
Direct and manage the monthly reporting of Assurant Employee Benefits GAAP financial statements, including monthly and quarterly discussions of results to management and Assurant Inc. Ensure the appropriate application of generally accepted accounting principles and statutory accounting principles in the recording of financial transactions. Direct and manage the quarterly reporting of Assurant Employee Benefits statutory information Direct and manage communication with NY on SEC reporting items such as 10-Q and 10-K filings, question and answer preparation for quarterly calls, etc. AEB finance representative in reviewing accounting policies and procedures, representative on cross-site teams and meetings. Direct and manage the financial controls area, including analysis of risks to financial reporting and design of process and procedures around account reconciliations, daily balancing, and other financial controls as well as the cash operations areaRequirements for the position:
Education:Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience. It is desirable for the incumbent to have attained Certified Public or Certified Management Accountant status. Knowledge and Skills:o Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
