In this position you will manage a team of Clinical Analysts responsible for working with nursing departments/ business lines to achieve and ensure acceptance, utilization, and maturation of technical clinical solutions. Responsible for all activities related to clinical information system educational initiatives.
As the Director you will develop plans and strategies for gaining clinician and physician acceptance and ongoing use of technical solutions. You will also develop strategies, plans and accountability structure to ensure the success of the department.
Essential Responsibilities:
Promotes clinical information system optimization to facilitate patient care
Works collaboratively with Central Baptist Information Services Director to optimize clinical systems and processes to enhance the care delivery process. Identifies significant process issues, sharing findings with Baptist Healthcare application teams and other Baptist Healthcare IS team members as appropriate to facilitate system optimization. Coordinates clinical system review audits to assess for optimization opportunities. Develops high quality documentation and materials to communicate with all levels of the organization. Provide input to system architecture and implementation strategies.
Serves as clinical consultant to optimize workflow processes related to clinical information management
1. Provides a leadership role in defining and communicating best practice of
clinical information system use by Central Baptist clinicians and non-direct
care staff .
2. Takes a leadership role in facilitating assessment of clinical workflow
processes before, during, and after clinical system implementation;
coordinating process solutions as needed .
3. Coordinates workflow optimization activities with Central Baptist
Information Services to facilitate change.
4. Conducts clinical system end-user process audits and report’s findings
and recommendations.
5. Identifies opportunities to improve measurement of and compliance with
key clinical indicators, core measures, regulatory requirements and metrics
to measure outcomes, safety, and effectiveness of care.
6. Identifies and manages risk and quality assurance issues related to
clinical information management .
7. Identifies barriers to project success and communicates effectively to all
levels of the organization.
Directs training and educational activities for clinical information systems at Central Baptist.
Directs training activities to facilitate quality information system educational opportunities. Monitors hospital training progress and takes necessary action to address issues . Identifies new functionality associated with clinical system upgrades and coordinates efforts to define desired functionality and associated training needs. Maintains and supports educational systems utilized to provide clinical information system training.Serves as an internal consultant to leadership groups to promote increased value and awareness of clinical informatics
Facilitates monthly meetings with executive clinical leadership. Works collaboratively with professionals from Baptist Healthcare System Information Systems, hospital leadership and other corporate groups to enhance clinical systems in support of excellence in patient care, clinical transformation, and establishment of best practices. Provides leadership support to hospital clinical informatics leadership and teams to coordinate clinical information system activities, share and collect information, and develop and strengthen relationships. Develops effective tools to promote and support clinical informatics initiatives.
Position Qualifications
Bachelors of Nursing required. Masters in nursing or health related field. Clinical Informatics degree preferred 3-5 years progressive leadership experience working in the healthcare setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced analytical and organizational skills Knowledgeable about information systems, clinical software, and other computer applications. Prior experience with McKesson Clinicals desired. Project management experience
