Systems Division provides select Government, commercial, and international customers value-added, total worldwide systems solutions for their air and missile defense, air traffic control, communications, command and control, range, spacelift, surveillance, and force protection needs, as well as full logistics support services for facilities and equipment. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leading the Marketing staff of ITT Systems in the acquisition of new business in adjacent market areas, characterized as White Space. White Space is inclusive of new customers, new geographic regions or adjacent core competency areas and thus is not considered to be fully segregated from currently established corporate marketing. This position leads ITT's geographically and functionally structured marketing organization in the identification and definition of business opportunities of interest to ITT Systems. Leads ITT System efforts to interface with selected customers. Interacts with all internal organizations within ITT Systems and develops a broad customer base in defined market segments. This position leads efforts to provide independent and in-depth assessments/viewpoints relating to new business/follow-on pursuits for senior staff of ITT Systems and ITT Defense as required. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: 1.Participates in the preparation of program acquisition/capture plans on selected programs detailing the win themes and strategies, discriminators, price to win estimates, and action plans to be followed by the Capture Team. 2.Develops short and long range plans for penetration/expansion of emerging markets with new customers and business opportunities. 3.Supports the development of the Systems Division overall strategic/operations plans and departmental plans relating to identified programs and priorities. 4.Leads ITT Marketing efforts to evaluate business opportunities and provides bid/no bid recommendations to the Director of BD. 5.Coordinates closely with Operations and Group VPs to lead marketing efforts in the management, identification and pursuit of potential expansion and/or follow-on business within existing and developing business areas. 6.Establishes and maintains knowledge of System Division's lines of business and strategic directions. Uses that knowledge to lead the ITT Systems Marketing staff in the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities. 7.Maintains strict compliance with ITT Policies and Procedures relating to Business Ethics and Code of Conduct, in addition to the specific procurement regulations established by the Federal Government. Maintains strict compliance with ITAR regulations and complies with ITT Systems Division internal policies, as related to ITAR. 8.Leads the Marketing team in their efforts to ensure an awareness of industry capabilities and recommends teaming, joint ventures, and prime or subcontract business relationships where appropriate. 9.Leads the ITT Marketing organization in their assessment and reporting of competitor activities, capabilities, perceived strategies, and new developments. 10.Ensures the ITT marketing organization establishes and maintains effective liaison/interface at various levels within the customer community, including Government agencies, industry primes, potential subcontractors, and small businesses from a variety of small business categories (e.g. SB, SDB, WOSB, 8a, etc.). 11.Interfaces with other ITT organizations to promote cooperative new business pursuits. 12.Participates and advises on new business proposal efforts to ensure core competency, compliance with customer requirements, and attainment of cost and budget objectives are met. Acts as formal review team participant where appropriate. 13.Leads data and resources acquisition to support the development of major bid and proposal estimates, monitors progress against plans and initiates corrective action where appropriate. 14.Leads ITT efforts to establish and maintain current procurement data and timelines on potential and selected opportunities. 15.Recommends the use of Consultants/Technical Representatives where appropriate and maintains regular interface on all ITT program opportunities. 16.Participates in selected Government/Industry Associations and Government briefings to Industry. 17.Provides additional marketing and business development support as may be required in pursuit of company business objectives. 18.Other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing or Business Administration. Masters Degree, Marketing or Contracting and Acquisition Management desired or equivalent work experience. Experience:A minimum of 15 years experience in general management with substantial exposure to marketing and marketing support activities. At least five years should have been in a position leading a large firm's efforts in Marketing to the defense or other government agencies. Should have an outstanding understanding of government procurement, DoD contracts, regulations and procedures, and DoD customers and programs. Experience in NASA, NOAA, DoE and other government agency services acquisition policies and opportunities are highly desired.
