Description: The role of the Marketing Department is to plan and coordinate the development, delivery and communication of ING DIRECT's financial products and services to ensure awareness, profitability and competitiveness. In addition, the Marketing Department will develop marketing, advertising, and public relations strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Job Summary:
The Direct Marketing Graphic Designer will be part of the team responsible for executing direct mail and insert programs with over 100 million pieces of mail and 100 million inserts annually for America's largest direct bank. The Direct Marketing Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating original, and updating existing direct mail packages and inserts to drive response while reflecting ING DIRECT's brand personality.
* Interpret direction from creative brief into mail packages, postcards, self mailers and inserts to drive response and bring ING DIRECT's brand personality to life.
* Use knowledge of current graphic design software to produce visually stimulating, response-driving material.
* Ability to incorporate pre-written copy into art files.
* Contribute to overall product marketing strategy.
* Ensure creative development is completed and delivered on schedule and on brief.
* Establish and maintain appropriate creative libraries and learning/case study libraries on the performance of each creative.
* Consistently monitor competitor activity and changes in the market to inform marketing plans.
* Maintain and update existing mail packages and inserts.
* Create, collect & transfer final art files to printers, ensuring that files meet printer specifications.
* Work directly with printers to ensure art work is properly reproduced.
* Opportunity to expand into newsletter, web design, and customer communications. Qualifications: * A minimum of 5 years designing for direct marketing programs
* Bachelor degree in graphic design, marketing, or related field
* Familiar with standard concepts, best practices, and procedures for direct marketing design
* Comprehensive knowledge of graphic design principles, a wide variety of media, and production methods
* Work well under pressure; effectively handle tight deadlines, unexpected delays, revisions, ad hoc requests and changing priorities
* Ability to multitask, conceptualize, create and work directly with internal clients
* Must remain abreast of technological advances in the field
* Strong creative problem solving skills
* Experience in designing new creative that adhere to postal regulations and brand standards
* Ability to interpret and translate analytic thinking into design concepts
* Ability to comp design pieces for presentation of creative concepts
