WellPoint is the nation's leading health benefits company serving the needs of approximately 28 million medical members nationwide. Responsible for financial oversight of multi-region business unit. Works closely with all levels of the regional and corporate accounting, cost and budget, and reporting and analysis areas to insure the integrity of the financial results of the business unit. Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Oversees financial reporting process - including coordination with all regions and corporate office, review, analysis, reporting, and presentation of financial results. Provides decision support for Business Unit's President and Senior Management Team operational and business goals. Oversees overall budget, forecast, and cost allocation processes. Interfaces and assists Corporate Office and Regional AFSG areas in various analysis and training. Management duties include hiring, training, coaching, counseling and evaluating performance of direct reports. Performs other duties as assigned.

BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required. 8 to 10 years experience in accounting, financial reporting, business analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic and tactical planning within a health insurance/managed care environment required. Experience providing visible sponsorship and guidance of major change initiatives preferred. Strong leadership and managerial skills required. High level of skill using personal computer required. Must have excellent analytical, written and interpersonal and project management skills. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required.

 

 MBA, CPA, CMA, FSA, and/or CFA preferred.
