Century Marketing is currently looking for an experienced Digital Mac Production Artist. This requires a person that thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, is skilled in production graphics, and will work second shift. Position requires working knowledge of Mac computers and digital printing art process, advanced graphics software, i.e. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, or equivalents, with minimum 3-5 years experience. Proven ability to use principals of layout & scale to recreate, creative problem solving, meet lead times of customer/mgmt.

Relocation expenses will not be considered.

JOB TITLE: DIGITAL MAC PRODUCTION ARTIST

REPORTS TO: ART DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR

FUNCTION: To use graphic, computer and communication skills in creating art for customer approval and outputting art in the correct format within the digital printing specifications for production of printed materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare graphic and typographic image for printing using advance level software in a MAC based environment.Design layout, select fonts and incorporate images that have been scanned, reconstructed or imported from other software.Create document files that are compatible with output devices used in Digital Production. (Laser printer, Indigo press.)Interpretive artistic ability required.Must work well independently and with supervision in a team oriented, customer-driven environment.Must be flexible, with good attitude, willingness to learn, be challenged and be able to work under occasional deadline conditions.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

1. Working knowledge of Macintosh computers and graphics software; i.e. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Quark, or equivalents. (1-year minimum)

2. To use various graphic and technical skills to reconstruct inferior artwork into graphic art usable for printing.

3. To utilize various software programs to clean-up artwork, as needed.

4. Must understand Graphic processes and terminology.

5. Ability to apply principals of layout and graphic design to create acceptable Art for customer approval and production.

6. Ability to work as a team player; solid work ethic; willingness to learn and be flexible.

7. Ability to solve problems creatively.

8. Must be able to meet customer or management's specified lead times on a daily basis.

9. Work with Digital project coordinator to ensure art is completed that is scheduled and give input on lead times for art generation, any issues regarding customer artwork.

10. Must have excellent organizational skills in order to keep customers files organized.

REQUIREMENTS:

*3-5 yrs. proven ability to use principals of layout; proportion and scale to recreate art, making it

acceptable for customer approval and reproduction requirements.

*Thorough knowledge of digital printing art process.

*Ability to accurately estimate labor and prioritize workload.

*Must have an aptitude to blend old and new graphic technologies for the most efficient use of time.

*Print Industry or electronic prepress experience preferred

*Ability to use Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark and Adobe

*Good communication skills

*High school diploma or equivalent GED

* Overtime possibilities when workloads require.
