A digital hardware design engineer is needed with a minimum BSEE and 0-2 years industry experience. The work will entail the design of high-speed multi-layer circuit boards incorporating the latest FPGA, ADC and DAC technology as well as high-speed serial links operating at several Gb/sec. The design work is done in a Cadence environment utilizing ORCAD and Allegro design tools. Programming FPGA firmware will be performed in Verilog, along with demo or test GUI development in Visual Basic and/or Matlab. Some background in analog circuit design is also needed, as well as an overall knowledge and interest in RF sensing, communications, antennas, RF and high-speed digital hardware and software. The job will also involve laboratory testing and debugging of custom hardware/software. Excellent written skills are needed to write specifications and reports, as well as interaction in a team environment. Applied Radar, Inc. is a fast-growing research, developing and manufacturing company based in central Rhode Island, focusing on delivering RF systems to the US DoD and commercial industry.
