We are seeking a Development Communications Manager for our IEEE Foundation Development Office in Piscataway, NJ. The Manager will increase and improve communication to a variety of audiences with a focused emphasis on current and potential major gift, planned gift and annual fund donors to the IEEE Foundation. The outcomes of the work of this position will include a larger number of potential donors aware of pre-disposed to supporting the IEEE Foundation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enhance communications via print newsletters and annual reports, web site, e-mail, events, presentations, media, advertising, letters and other modes of communication as appropriate.
• Will be expected to measurably increase the visibility of the IEEE Foundation by identifying needs and developing and implementing an integrated communication program.
• Creating, managing, executing and assessing the promotion, marketing communication and public relations program(s) for the IEEE Foundation’s Development activities.
• Work proactively with management, and other stakeholders, to conceive and develop a comprehensive promotional program(s) for the IEEE Foundation using a variety of tools
• Research effective methods and strategies to promote the program and develop consensus in a strategic communications.
• Measure the effectiveness of all aspects of the internal and external communication and outreach initiatives to drive increased awareness of and financial support for the IEEE Foundation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications or related major.
• A minimum of five years of marketing communication or public relations experience is required.
• Familiarity with non profit and development communications as well as working with volunteer boards, preferred.
• Highly developed communication skills (interpersonal, writing, public speaking) are required.
• Experience in print and electronic communication, crafting messages, and developing communication plans
• Experience in assessing the effectiveness of promotional programs
• Must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges.
• A high level of skill in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is expected along with a high level comfort with web authoring tools.
