This position will be based in Southfield, Michigan in the Customer Tech Service Group.  Primary responsibilities will include developing and optimizing products for color, appearance and plant workability.  The candidate will also be required to develop and launch Integrated Paint Process for Waterborne technology, to support customer problem identification, analysis, and resolution activities related to product performance and interface with the internal and external customers and manufacturing facility to address concerns and communicate results in a professional manner.   Additionally, the candidate must support compliance with corporate and site programs including Safety, TS 16949, ISO 14001, and ECP. This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.  The successful candidate should have a Masters Degree in Chemistry or Material Science or a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or Material Science with at least three years of experience in the field.  BASF recognizes Institutes of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Experience in coatings formulation, color matching, applications and technical service support is an asset.     Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills.   An ability to organize work, multi-task, and work well in a team environment will be required for this position. This position may require some traveling to customer facilities.
