We currently have an opportunity for a Development Assistant in Indianapolis, IN. This person will be responsible and accountable for support of the development department through administrative through administrative tasks (LIHTC applications, internal market studies, preliminary due diligence, etc).         

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in preparations of Low Income Housing Tax Credit applications.

• Prepare internal market studies for apartments and self-storage.

• Responsible for initial file creation for all real estate transactions, including the transaction file for the master tracking system

• Attend affordable housing team meetings, take minutes, transcribe minutes and distribute to team members.

• Assemble marketing packages.

• Maintain records of development storage facilities (content and unit numbers).

• Conduct preliminary due diligence as requested by development staff.

• Coordinate department travel.

• Prepare agenda and handouts for monthly staff meetings.

• Conduct various research projects related to apartment and self storage developments.

• Maintain and update development department policies and procedures manual.

• General administrative duties.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• 1 year of experience

• A combination of education and experience is acceptable

• Language Skills - Ability to read, write, speak and interpret rules, procedures, routine

reports/correspondence and to speak effectively with groups of employees and/or residents.

• Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiple, divide using whole numbers, fractions and

decimals. Ability to compare rate, ratio and percentages and interpret basic graphs.

• Reasoning Skills - Ability to solve problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in

situations where only general guidelines exist. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral,

diagram or schedule form.

• Computer Skills – Intermediate experience with MS Office
