Position Description:
This position can be located in either Highlands Ranch, CO or Waltham, MA. Responsibilities: - Work in a team to develop and implement e-Product Business Intelligence strategy for a large publishing company - Focus will be on integrating web analytics and other online activity information with cost and revenue information to produce a complete and actionable picture of the business - Work with business and technical staff to understand needs and document business requirements - Execute data analysis, data mart architecture, ETL, QA, analytics and reporting - Develop and implement ETL strategies using Informatica and other products - Operating Systems –Linux, Windows NT - Database – Oracle, SQL Server 2005 - Develop and maintain functional and technical documentation - Provide 24-hour support for business applications on rotational basis
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years development experience in data warehouse design and construction - 6-9 years of IT experience - The candidate should also be familiar with web site structure, traffic reporting, internet business models and technologies and experienced in Data Warehouse methodology and Dimensional Modeling - Experience with the web as both a data source and a way of delivering BI information - Understanding of web site design concepts and structure - Extensive experience with Oracle, Informatica or other major ETL system, or other major BI platform - Knowledge of Web Analytics platforms preferred (NetInsight, Omniture, Webtrends, etc.) - Knowledge of statistics and the visual presentation of quantitative data Additional desired experience: - Knowledge of Cognos Powerplay and Reportnet, SQL Server and Unica NetInsight a plus - Marketing, Media or e-Business experience a plus - Experience with XML - Analytical design and problem solving skills with excellent oral and written communication skills - Time management, project management, ability to deliver in an environment of competing priorities and changing project scope - Proficiency with MS office, Windows and Project planning software - Ability to think in the big picture and tie it to day to day work - Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science or MIS/CIS). Relevant experience may be a substitute for education.
