Paradigm Solutions is currently seeking a Desktop Engineer with providing level 3 technical resolution support for Desktop Imaging related issues. In this role, the individual will:

·         Create, test, validate, update and maintain a standard XP Image for all standard Laptops, Desktops and Tablet platforms.

·         Research, recommend and develop solutions for an existing desktop software and image issue.  Test and validate non standard software or hardware for the customer.

·         Provide a thorough report and recommend any upcoming security patch, software version upgrade and new IT software or hardware that will be suitable in the customer's environment.

·         Application packaging experience to include repackaging, distribution and rollback. 

·         Application packaging experience with Wise Package Studio.

·         Test and validate Windows security patch for Microsoft Windows XP on all customer Platforms (i.e service packs, patches and hot fixes, upgrades, etc).

·         Create scripts/programs and Registry hacks to automate systems software or to resolve related issue without customer's interaction.

·         Maintain and update the customer's Desktop Imaging documentation.

·         Record and track IT related problems and solutions via Remedy Action Request System.

·         Provide a positive experience and quality customer service to all customers. 

This is a full time position and is located in Washington, DC.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Experience supporting Windows XP desktop environment via Microsoft SMS 2003. Experience with patch deployment methodologies, Microsoft Office admin install points, Windows XP desktop administration (local/remote), WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation), Windows Update, and Windows Installer.  Client/server installation and configuration experience.  MS Windows technology expertise . Configuration management of developer's software . Ability to research and articulate recommended solutions and technology. Ability to design, develop and document technical solution and procedures. Experience in a LAN/WAN environment. Certifications (i.e., MCSE, MCSA, MCP) a plus. High level of initiative and self-confidence along with strong verbal and written communication skills is important. A bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent, a plus. Must be a U.S. Citizen (agency background check required).
