Our innovations have led to Emmy® Awards and hundreds of filings for US patents as we introduce new must-have technologies into the TV viewing experience.    We make a commitment to challenge, inspire and reward the people who make the DIRECTV vision come to life -  Come join our winning team!   DIRECTV's Maryland Mobile and Broadband Development group is seeking a skilled Design/Test Engineer to join the team.  The Design/Test Engineer will be responsible for the following: Setting requirements, developing, testing, and documenting the RF and analog portions of DIRECTV digital video decoder platforms and associated equipment.  Design responsibilities include part selection, layout optimization and debugging of new hardware designs.  Testing responsibilities include the development of set top box test plans and the execution of these plans on internal and third party designs. BSEE or equivalent is required. 8+ years of relevant design experience (QPSK/8PSK and/or ATSC tuners, demods, audio/video subsystems, LNB controllers) is desired.  Familiarity with RF generators, spectrum analyzers, BER test setups required.  Experience with set top box design, MPEG or DVB systems a plus. Candidates should be team oriented, with a strong self-directed work style, comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.  Excellent written/verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills required.
