For the past quarter century, Judlau Contracting has been a leader in the heavy construction industry specializing in capital improvement and public works projects. Our work runs the gamut from highways to subways, tunnels to subsurface utilities, roadways to bridges, electrical and signal work to environmental remediation projects. We are looking for individuals who can apply their knowledge, experience and skills to long-term employment.

The Judlau Companies are now seeking both Junior and Senior-level Design Engineers to be based out of our location in College Point, New York:

Position Overview:

Project work includes but is not limited to:

Tunnels Bridges Subway stations Piers and marinas

Primary Job Functions:

Creates engineering designs in steel and concrete Must possess knowledge of means and methods of construction, as well as value engineering alternatives Designs temporary supports required to maintain and protect the

stability of structures adjacent to the construction project

Coordinates with Project Management teams, including construction staging, and construction activities that require engineering (e.g. demolition/erection procedures, lifting plans with respect to construction equipment), evaluating project constructability, and engineering alternate Coordinates with Estimating Department to bid projects for both

design/build projects as well as bid/build projects

Other Job Functions:

Reviews contract documents and understands project parameter

Qualifications and Requirements:

Knowledge of concrete and steel design Knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation design NY PE license preferred AutoCAD experience preferred Working knowledge of personal computing and spreadsheet software Strong communication skills, both oral and written Knowledge of HCSS or ability to learn

Education and/or Training (degrees, licenses, certifications):

4-year Civil Engineering degree with prior experience in the construction industry
