Commercial Vehicle Group, a recognized leader in commercial vehicle solutions for the commercial, industrial, municipal, construction, agricultural, and marine industries is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer at our Michigan City, Indiana location.  Our Michigan City location designs and manufactures Sprague Devices brand of application specific windshield wiper systems for all segments of the commercial vehicle market.  The Design Engineer will develop OEM and after market windshield wiper and washer systems, electric and pneumatic switches, and HVAC controls.  This position requires a well-rounded, hands-on engineer with a mechanical aptitude.

Job responsibilities include developing system layouts, component part designs and drawings, developing test plans, assisting with prototype builds and test set up, investigating product design changes, and production support.  Occasional travel to customers and suppliers may be required. 

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology and have experience in design of electrical and mechanical products with emphasis on mechanical design.  CAD experience required but 3D solid modeling experience with Pro/Engineer preferred.  Candidates must have industrial work experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
