Local company seeks a Business Analyst for a contract for hire, permanent position in downtown Memphis, TN.  Position requires experience with multiple business functions/areas. 3-5 years work experience in an analyst or development capacity. Experience working with business users to define project requirements.  Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent business experience. 

Preferred Skills include:  Software Development Lifecycle, Youth Cases, Process Modeling, and Requirement Gathering.  Preferred Certifications:  PMI (Project Management) and IIBA (Certified Business Analyst Professional).

Responsibilities:

Researching and formally documenting business processes and formal systems requirements. Actively solicits, analyzes and negotiates customer requirements in order to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the customer's needs. Establish and maintain agreement between customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables.

1. Utilizes extensive business knowledge to drive and participate in gathering requirements for IT projects.

2. Works closely with the business team to thoroughly understand “as-is” and “to-be” processes.

3. Functions as the main liaison between the Business and IT Project Teams for medium to large scale projects (60-120 days in duration).

4. Produces formal, written system requirements documentation using the standard templates provided in the software development methodology.

5. Partners with the Technical Architect on the project to develop High Level Design Specification and work through specific details of Low Level Design.
