BASIC FUNCTION:

Coordinates, oversees and provides all technical RF design and drafting and quality control activities for system and regional projects as assigned by supervisor. Maintain Design Departments' policies and standards. Will assist in consolidation and conversion of divisional network data into new TWC standards and software platforms.

DIMENSIONS:
Reports to Manager of Design in Divisional Design Department and performs fiber and HFC design, CAD drafting, project coordination and QC of all projects within the Design & Drafting Departments responsibility.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Performs designs and drafting for rebuilds, upgrades, system extensions, new builds, conversions and provides quality reviews of all work. Knowledge of all aspects of CATV network design, fiber network design and CAD applications. Ensures compliance to regional and corporate design and CAD standards and specifications. Ensures reporting and high quality level of engineering documentation to management and all departments as required. Communicates effectively within all levels of the organization and participates in necessary public relations including venders, engineering contractors, developers and various government and municipal offices.

KNOWLEDGE:
Required: High school diploma, a minimum of five years experience as a HFC designer and drafter with basic understanding of fiber design and HFC networks. Thorough computer literacy in Windows operating systems, Windows software and applications and basic computer hardware knowledge. Thorough working knowledge of both AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting software and Lode Data Design software. Ability to organize and oversee entire area of responsibility. Experience with spreadsheet software, word processing software and database software
Preferred: Experience with FOCUS design/drafting software a plus. Experience in field engineering, permitting UG excavation and make ready functions.

HUMAN RELATIONS SKILLS:
Must be able to effectively deal with various levels of the organization and with contacts outside the company. Must possess a high degree of interpersonal competence and communicate problems and present solutions to management and field personnel in order to carry out the tasks required to meet project requirements and enforce company standards.

PROBLEM SOLVING:
Working under minimal supervision will use expertise of network design and construction to coordinate information which is necessary for the regional technical team to plan, build and maintain an HFC network. Responsible for applying complex mathematical processes to a variety of work tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to physically manipulate an engineering copier, printer and scanner. Must be able to handle large drawings (24" x 36"). Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and on the phone.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Generate and implement RF Design, CAD standards and procedures that mesh with company business activity.
2. Act as a technical and operational support for other TWC departments and outside contractors.
3. Responsible for design, drafting and documentation of activities for assigned projects.
4. Supply necessary reporting to management as required.
5. Responsible for accuracy and quality for assigned projects.
6. Provide leadership in making cost effective decisions.
7. Inform supervisor of progress and problems as they are encountered.
8. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
9. Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.
