Tetra Tech Facilities Construction (TtFC), a division of Tetra Tech, Inc., is a vertical construction entity devoted to providing sound estimating, scheduling, project and construction management services. We have the expertise to take a project from design through closeout. 

We seek a driven, capable Design/Build Sr. Architect/Engineer. The position is located in our Alexandria, VA Corporate office. 

The successful candidate will directly assist our Design/Build Mgr. in the implementation of the TtFC corporate QC program; will lead the verification process assuring the compliance of our various A/E design consultants and trade subcontractors with the technical requirements established by our clients for their projects, including the US Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) QC program. (Possession of USACE CQC Certification preferred.) 

Additional responsibilities will include the review of plans and specifications, assembly and transmission of required submittal materials, assistance in the resolution of requests for information, assistance in the development of alternative design solutions and value engineering proposals, coordination of design criteria and document our compliance with LEED program requirements. (LEED certification and knowledge of relevant building codes and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) required). 

Candidate’s principal focus will be the inspection of construction documents being prepared by our A/E consultants and trade subcontractors for compliance with the prime contract and to confirm the overall completeness and quality of those documents; ensure all DCRs are reviewed within our design/build teams and that appropriate technical responses are timely submitted to the client; must be able to interpret building plans; must possess min.of 7-10 yrs prior experience developing and reviewing construction documents prepared specifically for vertical construction projects of $20 million or larger. 

BS/BArch degree in architecture, BFA/BS degree in interior design, or BS degree in structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering required. 

Candidate shall possess a thorough working knowledge of applicable computer systems, software, and functions, including working knowledge of industry recognized CADD and BIM software. Candidate will be trained in the application of USACE’s RMS System; monitor the performance of our A/E consultants and communicate recommendations for ongoing actions/assignments to TtFC’s management; maintain continuous records of project quality and design review/compliance activities; perform functions with minimum supervison.
