Department Manager, Structural Inspection Group – Hammond, Indiana

Orbital Engineering,® Inc., a nationally recognized multi-discipline engineering company with offices in Pittsburgh, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Chicago, IL, and Toledo, OH, is recruiting for a Department Manager, Structural Inspection position at our Hammond, Indiana District Office.  The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of professional engineering experience and a B.S. Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. 

Currently, Orbital Engineering,® Inc. is providing structural inspection work for a variety of customers in the following industries:

Chemicals

General Heavy Manufacturing

Metals (ferrous and nonferrous)

Petrochemicals

Power Generation (fossil)

Pulp and Paper

Refining

Our primary work product includes the following:

Asset Evaluations

Confined Space Audits

Critical Structures Management® Programs

Due Diligence

Fall Protection

Hoisting and Lifting Devices

Mechanical Integrity

NFPA Arc Flash Studies

Safe Workplace® Programs

An Individual with the following certifications will be given priority consideration:

API 510

API 570

API 571

API 653

ASNT TC-1A Level II

BSCE

The successful candidate must be willing to travel for short to medium terms as assignments require.  Minimal off-shift work is also required, due to customer production requirements.

Must be willing and able to work at heights, and be fitted with an OSHA approved half face respirator (clean shaven, no beard).  A current valid driver’s license is a strict requirement.

Candidate must possess excellent communications and listening skills, and pay attention to detail.  This position requires a high level of direct customer contact. 

Experience with Microsoft Products and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
