Description: Mid to Senior SQL Server DBA/Mid to Senior Sybase DBA Responsibilities: 
Installation, Configuration and Upgrading of SQL Server Software 2000/2005 and related products
Installation, Configuration of Sybase 12.0 and above     
Respond to trouble tickets
Develop and implement Archiving, backup and recovery strategies
Responsible for database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, high-availability strategies with SQL Server 2000 and 2005 and Sybase in a 24x7 production environment
Interact with application owners/developers and/or technical staff
Maintenance of SQL Servers and Sybase Servers
Install/maintain SQL clustering
Install, Maintain and Troubleshoot SQL Server Analysis Services
Identify and resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues and other distributed data issues
Participation in Mock Disaster Recovery drills.
Document all SQL Servers and Sybase Servers and place documents in the DBA Sharepoint Repository for team reference
Analyze products and provide documentation.
Create user documentation for the mentoring of other team members
Use Service Now and Starteam for Incident, Change and Problem Management
Carry blackberry and provide 24X7 Support
Ability to be On Call
Ability to complete tasks and produce appropriate deliverables within project time schedules
Must be organized, self motivated and be able to participate in the knowledge transfer to other team members

Qualifications:

5yrs  SQL Server experience installing and configuring with SQL Server 2000/2005
5 yrs Sybase experience installing and configuring 12.0 and above
Maintain and support multiple Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 and Sybase environment
Good user knowledge of the Windows 2000/2003 platforms
Good user knowledge of Unix/Linux
Experience with Enterprise Manager and Enterprise Server Management Studio
Work effectively with others in a team environment
Develop and implement Archiving, backup and recovery strategies
Team player with excellent written and oral communication as well as organizational skills
Experience working in a Production, Development and UAT Environment
Must be able to work alone using initiative in a sometimes busy environment
Willing to learn new skills, cross train and knowledge transfer a must
Proficient with security infrastructure of SQL Server and Sybase
Proficiency in SQL language to create tables, indexes, views, triggers and stored procedures efficiently
Good understanding of Query optimization options and techniques
Good understanding and knowledge of creating, deploying and troubleshooting SSIS/DTS packages
Experience implementing/troubleshooting disaster recovery, log shipping, replication
Work effectively with others in a team environment
Work schedule flexibility
