A prestigious International Law Firm based in midtown Manhattan is seeking a full time Financial Systems OLAP DBA with a strong background in Hyperion Essbase.

Description:
• Maintain and support existing Hyperion client and financial applications by managing hierarchy as well as updating substitution variables, clac scripts, business rules, Excel macros, reports, etc.
• Lead the design, implementation and administration of the Hyperion suite of analytical tools. Promote involvement in ongoing development of Hyperion systems among users by soliciting ideas, expanding the scope and capabilities of the Hyperion applications and their use.
• Develop, test and implement changes to Essbase application as requested by finance.
• Provide ideas whenever possible to further automate WGM Finance Dept. tasks.
• Support the forecast and budget cycles, working directly with Firm budget Administrators and Finance Dept.
• Ensure process consistency and accuracy of budget balances between clarity, Hyperion and CMS applications.
• Consult and Essbase reporting and inquiry related questions.
• Develop and maintain reconciliation models between source applications and OLAP environment. Investigate, resolve and communicate discrepancies to the Management and Finance users on a regular basis.
• Maintain the Essbase servers and applications in the production, development and DR environment
• Manage the migration process from production to the DR and keep all environment in-sync. Manage all upgrades to the production and the DR environment using processes documented and tested in the development environment.
• Analyze and work with users on the impact of vendors software upgrades.
• Learn CMS OPEN and Future accounting systems applications, SQL table structure and relationships, and customization tools as required.
• Assist in supporting WGM Financial applications. Work on various projects as assigned by financial Systems Manager.
• Project Management – Create, track, and update all project tasks and continually inform the department and management of the project’s status.
• Reports to the Manager of Financial Systems.

Experience:
• Microsoft Excel, Access and/or SQL programming experience.
• Familiarity with Windows 95, and Windows NT in addition to an understanding of basic networking concepts. Self-motivated person with excellent time management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate results.
• In-Depth technical financial analysis skills, including Data consolidation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with staff of varying technical expertise.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with credibility at all levels of the organization.
• Relational database programming experience, preferably SQL.
• Ability to learn specific functional and technical aspects of an OLAP and the client/server accounting system.
• Ability to develop worksheets with complex calculations and macros.
• 3 or more years of experience in Business Intelligence environment.
• 2 or more years of experience in administering Hyperion applications.
• 1 or more years of experience with Hyperion System 9.
• Experience working with Finance/Accounting users and applications.
• Minimum 4 years college education.
