We have also been serving the U.S. Government for over 50 years and we are looking for a DB2 Adminstrator to join our team in support of a long time government client in Montgomery Alabama. DB2 database administrator (DBA) in support of DISA, Systems Management Center (SMC) Montgomery. Provide remote database administration for multiple Air Force and DoD systems supporting over 500,000 users worldwide. Responsible for maintaining over 500 HP and Sun mid tier servers and over 600 Oracle instances at Air Force and DISA locations, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Responsible for performing daily DB2 database administration duties to ensure maximum data availability and optimal database performance. Responsible for proactively monitoring database conditions to resolve potential troubles before they impact customer operations. Performs application administration to include privileges, user administration, database tuning and backup/recovery processes. Troubleshoot and resolve customer trouble calls reported by individual users and individual program offices. "ALPM" Qualifications A miniumum of 3 years of DB2 or SQL Database Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology or closely related field. Additional years of experinence can be substitiuted for the lack of an advanced degree. Also a minimum of an Active Secret Clearance is required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
