Description:
Volt is seeking a Data Warehouse Architect to work on the Perm/Contract to hire position · Provide architecture and planning recommendations in the areas of data management encompassing server hardware, software, backup, network, and disaster recovery. · Lead development, testing, and deployment of data warehouse and reporting solutions. · Analyze, design, configure, and install database and data base connectivity (SQL Net, ODBC, and TCPIP) software. · Responsible for supporting database administration for turnkey applications as well as custom developed systems · Provide performance tuning for database and system software/hardware and analyze, recommend, and implement solutions. · Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical design specifications and implementation plans. · Design of the data warehouse data storage strategy/technique (ODS, EDW, DM, etc.)

Requirements:
· Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts, such as star schemas, snowflakes, conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions, etc. · Strong background with relational database management objects (tables, schemas, indexes, stored procedures, macros), database design principles and data administration standards, and information security terminology. · Extensive experience with all phases of Data Warehouse development including prototyping, data modeling, analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and training end-users · Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. · Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. QUALIFICATIONS: · 8-10 years experience in OLAP architecture design, data modeling, data mart design, data security, ETL processes, and process modeling. · 8-10 years experience with developing structured systems specifications, including logical and physical data modeling/design. · Experience in the areas of Data Warehousing and Financial Applications. · Bachelors degree or equivalent and 8-10 years of large-scale computer related experience preferred. TECHNICAL SKILLS: · Experience with SQL Plus, PL/SQL, SQL, Transact SQL, data modeling, database design required. · Expert SQL skills required. Oracle experience preferred. · Implementation and design experience with ETL concepts and tools.
