We are seeking a Marketing Database Manager for the American Girl headquarters in Middleton, Wisconsin, near Madison. Key roles: Database management: ' Ensure integrity of data in direct-to-consumer data warehouse. ' Be expert on all marketing data warehouse tables & fields. ' Manage relationships & processes related to data appends. ' Manage the development of standard & ad hoc reports related to the data warehouse & data append processes. Marketing campaign activities: ' Respond to list selection requests. ' Project management - determine & allocate team resources and determine impact on IT resources. ' Design all complex campaigns, working with channel marketers. ' Oversee proper execution of all campaigns as well as execute complex campaigns. ' Oversee merge-purge processes & development of bindery instructions. ' Ensure all data capture needs are met, including file hygiene & offer history. Data capture/IT project work: ' Identify data needs from work with business partners. ' Develop & execute plans to gain access to new sources of data for analysis. ' Act as liaison to IT on all direct-to-consumer data warehouse projects & database support issues. Other leadership: ' Manage & develop staff. ' Manage vendor relations, including contract negotiation. Requirements: ' BS in Math, Stats, IT or other quantitative discipline, or BS in business/marketing with direct marketing experience. ' 5+ years experience working with a marketing database. ' Proficiency in SAS and Microsoft Office. ' Strong communication skills and ability to communicate technical information to varied audiences. ' Understanding of basic business principles. ' Ability to manage and develop people. Experience managing people preferred. ' Direct marketing industry experience preferred.
