Platts Marketing has an outstanding opportunity for a Marketing Database Manager to help us take our global marketing department to a new level. In this newly created position, you will play a critical role in helping our team leverage news and thought leadership assets to generate high-quality sales leads. You will work closely with our vertical market managers to help develop and execute targeted lead-generation campaigns. You will also work closely with the Sales team to help maintain strong alignment. Using your expertise in marketing and databases, you will lead the team in making the maximizing our internal database. Finally, you will help define and implement our strategy for overall marketing analytics. The Marketing Database Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of database/list management, research, collection and acquisition of customer and prospect data, and integrating these tools with the Marketing Communications programs for Platts target segments around the globe. On-going responsibilities include data reporting and analysis, list strategy, vendor negotiation, and liaising with partners in Global Customer Operations, Finance and IT.
Responsibilities include:Overseeing all data management activities; develop and implement strategy for ongoing control, maintenance and enhancement of existing database, and documenting process and standards. Provide best practice leadership in marketing database development Develop strategy for ongoing data validation, augmentation and enhancement of Platts data in Eloqua and SiebelOnDemand. Ensure accurate synchronization and closed-loop reporting between Eloqua and SiebelOnDemand databases. Work with Sales Analysts to ensure consistent tracking Work with Vertical Marketing Managers to help segment and leverage the Marketing Database for maximum effectiveness. Define business analytics and create reports to measure all aspects of the business including Statistical analysis Campaign results analysis Data cleaning & auditing Data appending List updating Test and control segmentationDistribution Reporting Bounceback/bad address rates Size of mailing/e-blast Response rate reportingList Content Reporting Demographics FirmographicsROI Cost per response/lead/sale Cost vs. revenue generatedManaging, developing, and ensuring accuracy of corporate databases/lists List analysis and campaign results reporting Improving strategies and methodologies for supporting direct marketing execution. Implementing new systems/processes to streamline and improve target marketing tools and practices. Serving as Platts’ Privacy Official, keeping up on new legislation and best practices around email marketing and data storage.
Education/ExperienceThe ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in information management, statistics, and 5-7 years of experience in database development and/or data analysis. Understanding of data mining, data warehousing, business intelligence and lead management processes and technologies preferred. Knowledge of database soft ware tools, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Oracle, Siebel, PowerPoint, and email delivery systems are a must.
