General Function:
Responsible for architecture, creation, design and implementation of modifications to existing and future SQL database solutions. Responsible for overall architecture, creation, design, development, implementation and maintenance of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions. Knowledgeable in all aspects of the Data Warehouse development life cycle, ETL architecture, technologies and processes and business intelligence technologies. Require developing requirements and design specifications. Ability of serving as a technical lead in the integration of solutions, designing systems, and developing new business opportunities while working with business departments, functional experts and IT resources.
Reporting Function:
This position reports to IT Infrastructure Director.
Representative Activities and Accountabilities:
The specific job duties of this position are:
1. Architects, develops, implements, documents, maintains, monitors and troubleshoots the Data Warehouse environment and Data Warehouse lifecycle.
2. Leads planning and implementation of improvements to existing database schema, security and architecture.
3. Design technology infrastructure to support performance, availability and architecture requirements in collaboration with other IT resources
4. Designs and builds Data Marts and OLAP cubes to support the mission critical Data Warehouse applications.
5. Designs and builds extractions, ETL processes, data quality (DQ) processes and report objects supporting business requirements.
6. Develops custom code and scripts to support the delivery and presentation of the Data Warehouse.
7. Technically oversees developers creating BI reports and analysis for business.
8. Resolves Data Warehouse related production issues in a timely manner as required.
9. Leads, develops and maintains data architecture, both in the data warehouse and other relational databases, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries, data element naming standards and data dictionary metadata standards.
10. Leads and mentors development of team members using industry standard data management practices and tools.
11. Participates in a collaborative team environment functioning within the SCRUM (agile) methodology.
12. Consults with project sponsors regarding development of project plans, information flow and content, including the facilitation of information gathering sessions.
13. Works with end users to understand business reporting requirements and in indentifying new data needs and delivery mechanisms.
14. Leads efforts to evaluate, select and implement Data Warehouse tools and components.
15. Creates written reports of findings and recommendations on performance analysis, feasibility studies and cost justification proposals.
Job Qualifications
Education/Credentials required:
Education required: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Education/Credentials preferred:
Professional certifications a plus.
Experience/skills required:
8+ years managing and maintaining enterprise class relational database environments. Five years with SQL Server 2000/2005 environment.
6+ years experience designing, developing and deploying data warehousing and business intelligence solutions including dimensional modeling.
5+ Microsoft Windows Systems and Network services.
Strong experience with multiple DWBI tools and practices, particularly with ETL tools.
Proficiency with network security concepts and implementation.
Experience/skills preferred:
ORACLE database experience.
N-tier architecture and SOA implementation.
Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise
Physical and other requirements:

· Ability to work well and communicate with individuals and teams.
· Ability to work all required overtime.
· Demonstrate attention to detail
· Work independently, as well as in a group environment with peers/clients.
