Overview:   As Database Analyst, you will function as first-level support of the SQL environment.  In this role, you will provide first-level database support for end-users and troubleshoot performance anomalies.  Additionally, you will assist with the support and maintenance of the operational and business systems databases managed by Legal Technologies IT as well as complete assigned database oriented projects.  Throughout the performance of your job, you will be responsible for maintaining best practices and remaining current on new database trends, features and related technologies.   Responsibilities: Perform problem resolution by utilizing T-SQL programming to generate ad-hoc queries and reports to resolve issues and requests in an effective and timely manner to maintain our Service Level Agreements. Determine and resolve issues as required working with our customers, internal and external support partners. Create and maintain reports, documentation and processes supporting the SQL environment. Ensure that requests for queries are completed on time and that processes are documented, maintained and reviewed for efficiency on a regular basis. Capture performance monitoring data and accumulate/report trend data with the objective of maintaining databases to achieve optimum performance. Participate and perform multiple projects/tasks, demonstrating time management, communication and prioritization skills to accommodate dynamic business requirements. Participation in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation. Less than 5% travel may be required with this position.   Proven experience with T-SQL and knowledge of other programming languages (VB, VBScript, and ASP), SQL high availability, and the maintenance of multi-dimensional databases. Experience supporting a 24x7 production environment (SQL Server 2000 and 2005 in both a non-clustered and clustered configuration).    Basic knowledge of database design, clustering, backup/restore technologies, replication, DTS/SSIS, MSDTC, full-text, and security. Knowledge and experience with Change Management, Problem Management and Incident Management Policies and Procedures. Knowledge of ITIL Framework is a plus. Effective communication (written, verbal and listening), organization, and time management skills along with a customer focus.
