Job Duties and Assignments will include: The position, Database Administrator, is responsible for supporting and maintaining Oracle production and development database systems. This individual will assist in supporting our production and development in-house database environments, inclusive of the new JD Edwards and Business Intelligence databases. This position will be involved in day to day operations including monitoring, tuning, upgrades and backups. This position will also assist in improving the design and architecture of the current and future Oracle environment, inclusive of the JD Edwards and Business Intelligence environments; which includes the maintenance and development of documentation pertaining to the existing and future Oracle environments. This position will liaise with the distributed Global IT Application and Information Delivery organization to ensure that all technology elements in regards to other future planned projects, effectively integrate with the current and planned Oracle environment. This position will also work closely with the production support team to assist in problem resolution and proactive maintenance. SUPERVISION: This position reports to the Senior Database Administrator. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performing tasks that require Oracle RDBMS DBA skills • Support and Maintain the JD Edwards and Business Intelligence databases • Improve the architecture of the Production database environment, in particular those environments that are corporate assets, such as JD Edwards and Manugistics. • Capacity planning • Support and maintain existing database systems, in particular JD Edwards. • Maintains technology currency and liaises with the external environment to identify opportunities to leverage technology to the benefit of the business • Liaises with the global IT Application and Information Delivery teams to ensure that developments are consistent with the Technology Architecture, to ensure achievement of service level objectives, and to identify opportunities to leverage technology to the benefit of the business • Adhere to Problem management service level agreements • Provides on time and on budget project services • Operates according to Elizabeth Arden approved Methodologies and Polices • Ensures the environment operates at the highest level of compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements, including, but not limited to Change Management and Security • Maintains appropriate documentation around the current Oracle environment • Supports project teams, globally, in the execution of projects and to enable the leverage of proven technologies Required Skills: • Broad technology currency • Database Administration with Oracle RDBMS 9i/10g • Enterprise Manager • Technology Architecture development and management • Technology Planning • Technology Evaluation • Project Management • Performance Management • Capital Asset Management • Liaison skills • Personnel Management Other Qualifications: • Four-year college degree in Computer Science, Business, or related fields. Experience and/or other training will be considered in lieu of a degree. An advance degree is a decided plus. • 2 plus years of relevant DBA experience with Oracle RDBMS 9i/10g. • 1 year Enterprise Manager experience. • 1 year experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One. • Strong verbal and written skills. • Experience with Oracle development and middleware tools a plus. • Experience with Oracle Portal 9i/10g a plus. • Excellent change management and strong interpersonal skills. • Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills.
