Description: Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities: Designs, implements and supports data warehousing projects in a Microsoft environment using SQL Server 2005 technologies. Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies. The DW Developer defines interfaces and functional specifications and is responsible for verifying accuracy of data, and the maintenance and support of the data warehouse. The successful candidate should be familiar with data warehousing concepts (Kimball approach preferred), best practices, and procedures. Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals is important for this position. Additionally, the DW Developer performs a variety of tasks requiring a certain degree of creativity and latitude. A strong teamwork approach is necessary. Typical activities include: - Review and analyze business requirements for Data Warehouse projects - Design, implement, maintain SQL Database and OLAP structures - Design of Microsoft SSAS Cubes and implement complex business rules using MDX - Development and rollout of Data loading mechanism (ETL) for the Data Warehouse Experience Required: - Dimensional Data modeling and star schema design - At least 3 years experience in Data warehouse design and development - Design and development of ETL processes and procedures using T-SQL and SSIS - Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience - OLAP cube development using SSAS - T-SQL code optimization - Good verbal and written communication skills Desirable Experience: - Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (i.e. SSRS, ProClarity, Office Performance Point) - At least 2 years developing MDX Queries Qualifications: See Job Description Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience Full time employees enjoy these outstanding benefits: *401(k) plan *Comprehensive health, dental and short term disability & long term disability plans *Business casual dress code *Sick days, personal days, holidays, and vacation days *A friendly, team oriented environment Job Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Job Number: 6714BR Company URL: http://www.kaplan.edu Company Profile: Kaplan University is an institution of higher learning dedicated to providing innovative undergraduate, graduate, and continuing professional education.
