Enterprise –Data Channel Development Manager (Engineering) – Central Region
The Data Channel Development Manager (DCDM) is an overlay systems engineering expert for the Converged Data Networking (CDN) portfolio. The DCDM provides incremental pre-sales engineering and solutions architecture expertise for Nortel Channel Sales teams and Business Partner Sales teams, driving increased Nortel Data revenue exclusively in non-named accounts. The DCDM coordinates with the Channel SE team to support End-User account and Channel Partner engagements. Considered “Nortel Data engineering experts”, the DCDM is a trusted advisor for internal sales teams, channel sales teams and end-user customers.
Accountabilities
• Act as the territory engineering expert for Nortel Data Solutions and be able to develop and train Partner organizations to effectively engineer, quote, order and configure Nortel Data solutions
• Act in CDN Solution Architect role, assisting in customizing Nortel Data solutions on a per Partner basis, providing reference architectures and articulating technical value proposition
• Conduct Partner lab testing/certification in support of CDN portfolio
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts for CDN portfolio in key and emerging Channels
• Manage and inventory any demonstration / evaluation gear supplied by PLM
• Acts a PLM and Core Systems Engineering interface for Channels
• Provide engineering support in the delivery of unsolicited Data Solution RFP’s
• Be the FCM and Partner Sales rep’s point resource for technical competitive knowledge
• Maintain/grow select Engineering relationships within key end-user accounts and Channels
Skills / Competencies
· Proven track record of successful pre-sales engineering in a Channel capacity; 7+ years of technical data Engineering experience
· “Hands on” technical knowledge of Nortel’s CDN portfolio, configuration, quoting tools/systems, as well as ability to effectively navigate post-sales support
· Familiar with Channel and Service Provider product certification / lab evaluation testing procedures
· Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization and with customers; exemplary track record and references required
· Able to deal with ambiguity and fast-paced environment; anticipates and resolves problems; proactive in planning, action & follow up
· Resourceful; able to find solutions and identify resources to get tasks completed
· Strong project manager, organizer and sound business planner
