Job Details: The data architect will be responsible for designing, maintaining and building conceptual, logical and physical database models. The successful candidate will: • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills • Design and create a vision for a solution and then translate the solution into a logical and physical data model culminating in end state solutions • Be able to gather complex business requirements from business clients and create solutions • Deliver quality work on time with multiple, competing priorities • Demonstrate capacity for learning quickly in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously. • Have extensive experience in developing logical and physical data models in complex, multi-application environments • Possess full life-cycle experience on large/complex enterprise project(s) • Have experienced in leveraging an assortment of data modeling techniques, including star schemas, Kimball methodologies and ETL strategies • Have demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership on large, complex SDLC projects • Work well with other on the team to meet project milestones, manage client satisfaction and mentor others on the team • Balance the strategic and tactical approach to the project • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously • Demonstrate the ability to think ‘outside the box’ and to 'see the big picture' • Be detail-oriented and result-focused with total commitment to team success, excellence, and quality assurance • Ability to articulate the benefits of an approach to a client and solution sell, verbally and through the creation of marketing materials • Possess a thorough understanding of: o Full software development lifecycle o Database technologies o Data Modeling tools o Data Warehouse methodologies o OLTP, OLAP and DSS implementations o ETL design and implementation experience o N-tier technologies o Oracle or DB2 or SqlServer or other mainstream database technology o Best practices and methodologies in data design, conceptual and logical modeling o Metadata / Ontologies o Business Intelligence and/or Analytical tools( e.g. Business Objects, Cognos, Microsoft SSRS, Actuate, Microstragegy, SAS or Other) o This person will be expected to work with a big team including several architects, BAs, SME's, ETL developers, data quality analysts, DBA's, etc Requirements: 5+ years experience as a database modeler. Must be familiar with both relational and dimensional modeling. Must have previous consulting experience on large, high profile, time sensitive projects.
