EBSCO Publishing is currently seeking a Data Architect who will develop, re-engineer and maintain the enterprise-wide view of the business’s data. This individual will analyze information requirements specified by the user community and design the required data structures. Will work with a number of internal organizations, including, but not limited to: editorial systems; product management; product manufacturing; and product delivery systems. This role requires exceptional versatility including: project leadership; technology planning; formal and informal communication; requirements analysis, software design and analysis; and software development. This senior role will have significant influence on the way systems are designed and data is modeled. This is an individual contributor position.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study. Eight (8) or more years of experience as a Data Architect is a requirement of this position. Eight (8) years experience in specification, design, and development of mission critical systems is necessary. Qualified applicants have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have solid team-working skills. Experience in XML standards is preferred as is a deep technical understanding of systems, databases, networking, and computing environments. Travel is not expected but may be required from time to time.
