Position Purpose:Under general direction and in accordance with policy, procedure and sound business practice represents customer needs and concerns to distribution center management and provides liaison services between customers and appropriate personnel. Purchases and controls materials, supplies, equipment, parts, tools and services as needed.
Typical Duties:1. Plans and coordinates shipping capacity with Production and Transportation to meet customer requirements and commitments.2. Monitors established performance measurements, benchmarking with other facilities.3. Maintains regular contact with customers and Marketing to ensure effective identification and resolution of customer concerns or questions.4. Proactively identifies areas of opportunity for improved, value added service.5. Forecasts, plans and purchases batteries and decorating components utilizing input from DC Management, Marketing and customers.6. Controls all inventory items for rotations and obsolescence.7. Directs cycle counting and procedures for inventory accuracy.8. Directs physical inventories as required.9. Reviews product availability daily and reports actions taken and availability dates, allocating product when required.10. Purchases and tracks all other materials, supplies, equipment, parts, tools and services as needed in accordance with purchasing procedures.11. Ensures MSDS are available for all supplies as required.12. Maintains existing planning, inventory and customer systems.13. Trains others in existing planning, inventory and customer systems.14. Supervises the administrative staff in procedures and practices relating to customer service, inventory and purchasing.15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:A Bachelors degree or equivalent, and five (5) or more years of manufacturing experience.
Working Conditions: 10% of time spent on production floor where there is exposure to lead and warm temperatures. 90% of time spent in office environment.
