Job Summary:

This position is responsible for sales development and sales support activities for an assigned territory.  

 

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

Sales Development - The Customer Channels Sales Manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding the annual territorial sales budget, and for representing the interests of the company in the field.

·         Make joint sales calls with channel partner sales representatives as a technical back-up on the product line, assist in closing sales, and provide "on-the-job" product training to the sales representatives.

·         Distribute and follow-up sales leads through channel partner sales representatives and report results.

·         Provide product training to new channel partner sales representatives, as well as "refresher" and new product training to established sales representatives.

·         Maintain current consignment inventory of demonstration equipment and conduct customer product demos as required.

·         Participate in all territorial customer/dealer "table shows" and select national trade exhibits.

·         Participate in regional dealer training/sales meetings.

     

Sales Support Activities - The Customer Channels Sales Manager will be responsible for providing information regarding new applications for potential product development, as well as other pertinent market information in supporting the sales of current and future products.

·         Feedback information on a variety of subjects including new applications/products, customer activity, dealer personnel changes, product quality/reliability, competitors products/pricing, bid results, etc. - to various interested parties within the company.

·         Maintain company office equipment, updated territorial dealer listings, and key account/customer information.

·         Evaluate potential new distributors, particularly in product specific niche markets.

·         Operate territorial expense budget within established guidelines.

·         Submit required reports such as Bi-weekly reports.

·         Maintain pipeline opportunities in CRM (customer relationship management) platform SFDC (Salesforce.com).

·         Maintain specific product knowledge as required to assist customers and distributor sales.

Educational Qualifications:

B.A./B.S. in the Life Sciences (biology, chemistry or medical technology)

 

Experience Qualifications:

 

§         Sales experience is preferred (laboratory equipment through distribution) although other relevant experience will be considered

§         Must demonstrate ability or aptitude to effectively sell through multiple sales channels.

§         Proven written and communication skills essential.

§         Self motivated; bias for action
