Job Description:

 

We are looking for a driven team player who is able to fill the following role:

* Gather requirements, plan, and implement custom physical design methodologies around industry standard tools for a next generation RTL2GDSII deep submicron physical design flow.

* Install, configure and integrate ASIC development software/databases on clients/servers, maintaining currency of software version.

* Serve as first line of support to prevent, identify, troubleshoot and resolve application issues and inquiries, escalating hardware and OS issues to the Data Center Operations team.

* Ensure access and usability of established ASIC product development environment and applications.

* Support collaboration efforts and efficiencies across geographical regions to internal businesses and external business partners.

* Actively participate in the planning, design and implementation of tools and processes to meet business’ future ASIC design needs.

* Drive for common processes within ASIC user divisions.

* Continually strive to automate and streamline operations and maintenance processes by identifying areas of improvement, writing scripts and documentation.

* Promote sharing of ideas and best practices with counterparts at other sites.

 

* Taken ASIC design from early definition to tape-out, developing methodologies for project or company wide use.* Understand deep submicron VLSI devices, layout, simulation, verification & fabrication process.* Experience in CAD or methodology developer role.* Experience in multi-geography or multi-company collaboration.* Work in ambiguity across businesses and geographies with 10% travel.* Software development skills: maintainable, elegant, planned.* Integration of front-end and back-end design a plus.* Experience in Schematics & Layout, Synthesis, Place & Route, Extraction, Clocking, STA/SSTA Timing, Noise, Physical verification, netlists, functional & spice simulation.* Experience in Virtuoso SKiLL, C/C++, Perl, Shell, OpenAccess, Linux, Revision control & design data management systems (RCS, CVS, SVN, etc), NFS, TCL, Lisp, Verilog.* Experience integrating 3rd party IP into ASIC design flow.* Linux/HPUX sysadmin, tool installation/versioning, managing multiple machines & users.* Job scheduling/automation (Grid/LSF/other), license management, compute farm architecture.* Software lifecycle/engineering/algorithms.* Secure Shell, computer systems security.
