We are currently looking for a Field Service Representative to maintain the integrity of the CSA registered mark by conducting factory audits and inspections and safeguarding on-going conformity of products bearing the CSA Mark out of the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
· Conducts factory visits on all types of products and assists Audits and Investigation Team with quality audits and non-conforming reports. This may involve removal of CSA Mark from products when non-compliance is evident.
· Selects representative product samples to audit; determines if sample complies with all applicable standards and Certification report; reviews quality control and testing documentation.
· Prepares Factory Audit Report (FAR) and product evaluation reports to document findings of inspections. Documents applicable Standards and tests against which products were evaluated. Reviews previous FAR's to determine if previous deviations have been corrected. With supervision, determines satisfactory corrective action and time frame to implement the changes. With supervision, authorizes the use of alternate components within the scope of CSA guidelines and training. With supervision, determines if non-compliance merits stop shipments, re-investigation or removal of CSA mark and takes appropriate action.
· Maintains contact with clients by following up, providing information, and responding to inquiries. Keeps current on new service available and communicates these to clients as necessary.
· Records changes to contact and factory names, and addresses and forwards to Client Services Centre or appropriate CSA department for documentation.
· Prepares Summary Reports of audit findings for management staff of CSA offices and / or CSA International Inspection Partners.
· Performs other related duties, as assigned by manager.
· Strong interpersonal skills; self-starter; good decision-making skills and organizational skills
· Excellent conflict resolution skills to be able to handle difficult situations
· With assistance, able to read and interpret engineering drawings and test data as required to complete assigned duties
· Computer skills (word processing, e-mail)
· Usage of calibrated measurement instruments, high voltage test equipment, hand tools.
· Ability to manage multiple inspection files and changing schedules and deadlines with supervision
· Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, as well as general laboratory procedures as they relate to performing factory inspections
· Field Service Representatives must be technical generalists. Preferred backgrounds are engineering and the sciences. A high level of self-motivation and attention to detail are required.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 0-2 years related job experience, or Bachelors degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical or non-technical field with 3-5 years experience
