CRITICAL CARE EDUCATOR
EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
Position Summary
Identifies critical care nursing staff education needs and develops a plan accordingly. Designs curriculum, prepares educational material, and presents information to staff (clinical and non-clinical, depending on the topic). Assists with nursing orientation. Conducts CPR classes as a trainer.
Responsibilities
Creates a learning environment.Work at least four hours per month at the hospital as a task nurse.Coordinate and conduct nursing orientation.Assist with ONA continuing nursing education provider unit.Facilitates group discussions to problem-solve.Establishes a relationship with the student and manage the classroom.Explains a complex concept in a clear concise manner.Delivers effective written and verbal training material.Listens attentively and actively to determine customer needs and develops training material accordingly.Teaches AHA BLS courses.Assists with annual staff education days, and fall skills/programs as needed.Attends quarterly feedback with Manager.Teach Meditech/BMV to clinical staff.
Requirements
Must be currently licensed in the State of Ohio. Have current valid nursing license, BSN preferred. Five years critical care nursing experience.Two years teaching experience preferred.Possesses excellent communication skills for public speaking ability and writing ability.Listens attentively and actively to determine customer needs.Work independently to set priorities, and organizes work.Proficient in the use of personal computers (hardware and software applications).Maintain Ohio driver’s license and acceptable mvr.Benefits Include:
