COURT SECURITY OFFICER

The Court Security Officer position provides security protection services for a specific court location in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.  Among the security protection duties provided by the Court Security Officer are entrance control, roving patrol, pedestrian control and preparing reports and records.  There are multiple openings.

Minimum Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship Minimum 21 years of age High school diploma or GED Must communicate in English fluently (Read, Write, and Speak) A graduate of a certified federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy or program that provided instruction on the use of police powers in an armed capacity while dealing with the public Minimum of three years verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency, provided the experience includes general arrest authority (experience does not have to be consecutive) Valid state driver’s license from resident state with safe driving record for past five years Pass a weapons proficiency test Prepare clear and concise reports A graduate of a certified federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy or program that provided instruction on the use of police powers in an armed capacity while dealing with the public Minimum of three years verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency, provided the experience includes general arrest authority (experience does not have to be consecutive) Ability to pass a thorough background check (with no convictions of misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Patience Self-confidence
