Cost Estimator
Charlotte based construction company seeks experienced commercial construction estimator.

JOB SUMMARY:
Creates timely accurate cost estimates for use in project proposals. Develops these cost estimates through analysis of project information to develop detailed scope and converting scope requirements into project cost by researching material and Subcontractor costs.

SALARY:
$50k to $60k

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reviews blueprints, specifications, and project scope information. Obtain clarification on plans and specifications by consulting with architects and engineers when necessary.
Attend project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post bid interviews as required.

Initiates and manages RFQ / RFI process to obtain accurate subcontractor costs.
Creates detailed material requirements and obtains firm quotes for delivered costs.
Estimates cost for use of rental equipment.
Create accurate / detailed scope derived from all information (Spec.’s, Scope, Plans).
Researches and determines best cost and source for materials.
Enters all information regarding estimate into Master Builder.
Reviews estimate / budget with Account Manager and Operations.
Develops and maintain a detailed database for Subcontractors and material suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Three to five years experience in construction scheduling and estimating.
2. Able to read blue prints.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
4. Experience with computerized estimating software.
5. Understands computerized scheduling software.
6. High energy, initiative, and attention to detail.
7. Knowledge of construction project management and job cost analysis.
8. Ability to identify and troubleshoot construction problems independently.
9. College degree preferred.
