Cost Accounting Manager
ITT Systems Division (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

Systems Division provides select Government, commercial, and international customers value-added, total worldwide systems solutions for their air and missile defense, air traffic control, communications, command and control, range, spacelift, surveillance, and force protection needs, as well as full logistics support services for facilities and equipment. POSITION SUMMARY: Manages the Jamis Cost Accounting System, including the establishment of allocations, interfaces to the General Ledger, and report development and distribution. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: 1. Run monthly allocations, and interfaces to the General Ledger. 2. Adjusts provisional general and administrative costs to actual. 3. Reconciles Cost Ledger to General Ledger. 4. Provides cost accounting support to other ITT Systems Branches. 5. Develops cost reporting from General Ledger System. 6. Work closely with Information Technology staff to ensure Cost System is functioning properly. 7. Write and run special cost reports in Showcase to capture specific cost data. 8. Ensure that Cost Accounting maintains or exceeds the standards set forth by ISO 9000. 9. With MIS assistance, coordinate the interaction between Accounting, Human Resources, Purchasing and other functional departments to improve the flow and reporting of shared information. 10. Helps to analyze the accounting requirements for new projects. Participates in the Accounting Phase-in Team with software set-up, training and implementation for the project. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: At a minimum, a Bachelor's Arts or Bachelor Science degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting required. A high level of knowledge information technology field is required. Experience: Eight years of experience in Accounting/Finance in progressively responsible positions, including two years as a manager or supervisor. Four years experience working with the design and maintenance of an automated accounting system is required. A high level of knowledge in the use of a PC is required.
