JOB DESCRIPTION
Pure Digital Technologies combined video quality, ease of use, and low cost to create an entirely new category of Point & Shoot Video Camcorders. This dynamic, technology startup debuted an exciting, new line of camcorders, video sharing software, and accessory products this year and plans to extensively expand the product line and distribution of its products next year.
PDT is looking for an experienced project manager to join their team. The qualified candidate would be responsible for managing any combination of projects including hardware platform launches, software and web application releases and hardware accessory development. Considering the array of products developed, experience driving projects that have both hardware and software components as well as involve manufacturing and distribution is highly desired.
Management of these projects would entail working with a cross-functional team made up of marketing, product management, hardware and software engineering, QA, manufacturing, and other stakeholders in order to ensure that the products are delivered on time and on budget.
As a rapidly expanding company, experience in a fast paced, evolving company will prove advantageous for the qualified candidate. An ability to adapt and formulate methodologies and processes that apply organization will be highly valued as well.
The Senior Project Manager would join the Project Office team reporting into the VP of Engineering.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage product development lifecycle ensuring launches are on time and on budget Develop and drive project plans, charters, and development processes from concept inception through product launchIdentify, manage, and track project and cross functional interdependencies and issues facilitating their resolutionDevelop and calibrate product development processes and methodologies ensuring scalability and continued efficacyCoordinate resources ensuring teams are staffed, workload is balanced and shared resources are optimized.Manage risks and project issues, communicating and escalating status to the project, executive, and product steering committee teams.Work with various team members to resolve project and process issues in a timely mannerDevelop clear communication plans and processes for managing internal resources and external 3rd party groups including development teams, developers, designers, and manufacturersManage multiple, concurrent product releases / projectsIdentify, track and resolve interdependencies across numerous product releases Contribute to the development and implementation of project management “best practices”SPECIAL NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE A BACKGROUND IN CONSUMER ELECTRONICSTHIS IS NOT AN IT OR WEB PROJECT MANAGMENT POSITION.
