We are searching for the right candidate to join our team as a Corporate Staff Accountant for our Arizona office.

POSITION DETAILS

Corporate Staff Accountant will be responsible for accounting, reporting and ad hoc analysis functions. Must be technically hands on with respect to all accounting and have a strong business orientation.  Responsible for accurately preparing financial activity in accordance with parent Group accounting policies and financial procedures and producing financial reports and analysis in an accurate and timely manner.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

§         Assist in maintaining accounts for Taylor Morrison, Inc., Entities

§         Write up monthly journal entries and prepare monthly financial statements.  Prepare monthly Management Accounts, which include cash flow and profit forecast for submission to Group Accounts.

§         Intercompany billings to divisions – assist staff with this process to provide details to divisions.

§         Track NA insurance that is billed out to the divisions semi-annually for both Captive and other liability/property insurance

§         Perform accounting for all 401K and UK pension plan accounting transactions, as necessary   

§         Fixed assets accounting for Corporate level entities

§         Assist in preparation of monthly consolidated financial results

§         Assist in performance of accounting for corporate entities including, assets, liabilities, revenues, costs, payables, receivables, and review and work with corporate departments for coding

§         Assist staff in the payroll accounting recordation process via set up of journal entries. Monitor burden accounts to track benefits at corporate level and allocation to divisions

§         Assist in the review of all routine accounting transactions at corporate and region/divisional levels

§         Assist in preparation of annual consolidated financial statements for the U.S. Companies

§         Assist in preparation of annual budgets for above companies and coordinate budgets

§         Assist in preparation of North American Annual Budget consolidation summary and monitor throughout year 

§         Assist in preparation of Annual BE-15 – Government report consolidating all U.S. companies

§         Assist in preparation of Quarterly BE-605 government reports

§         Prepare other government statistical reports that consolidate information from U.S. companies

§         Extensive interaction with the divisions to assist them with questions and procedures

§         Assist in accounts payable function to include but not limited to:

Review of all allocations, account codes and write up’s of A/P vouchers where necessary (i.e., telephone, insurance, sales and marketing, vendor rebate detail etc…All check runs and all daily transmissions to the bank

§         Perform ad hoc financial analysis and other duties as needed and/or assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

§         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

§         Minimum two years accounting experience

§         Experience with finance and accounting systems and software

§         Accounting experience, preferably in the homebuilding, land development and construction industry.

§         Knowledge of cost accounting (specifically construction industry).

§         Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office products

 

POSITION PREFERENCES:

§         Knowledge of US GAAP, UK GAAP, IAS, IFRS

§         Proven ability to partner with business functions

§         Hands on technical skills

§         Strong communication skills

§         Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
