We have been engaged to conduct an executive search for a Corporate Controller, for our client Signature Healthcare which includes Brockton Hospital, Inc., Brockton Hospital Auxiliary, Inc., Brockton Physician – Hospital Organization and Brockton Physician Groups. Brockton Hospital is a 233 bed, not-for-profit community teaching hospital, with approximately $160 million in revenues, located in Brockton, MA on the South Shore.

 

The Corporate Controller will report to the Vice President, Treasurer/CFO and is responsible for accounting, reporting and control functions for the all of the entities.  The Controller will direct professional and support staff in Accounting, AP/Payroll, and Patient Accounting through 5 direct reports and be responsible for accounting and statistical records, preparation of financial statements and reports for the parent and multiple entities, coordination of the budget, long range forecasting, third party reimbursement and Patient Accounting.

 

The Corporate Controller will manage the professional and support staff in Accounting, AP/Payroll, and Financial Planning (including Patient Accounting for all of the entities.

 

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required) with a Master’s degree and a CPA preferred.; Fellow of the HFMA also preferred; 10 or more years experience in health care accounting and health care financial services with at least 5 to 7 years at a management level; excellent oral and written communication and leadership skills; strong negotiation skills; excellent technical accounting and analytical skills; and strong problem solving skills. Knowledge of managed care and capitation are strongly desired.

 

Candidates must have strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, and above average decision-making ability.  They must have strong personal computer skills and excellent analytical skills.

 

The starting salary is still being determined but we are using the starting range of up to $140k + (depending on background and experience) with a strong benefit package.
