Advocate Christ Medical Center is currently seeking candidates for the Coordinator of Epidemiology position. This person will performs surveillance for clinical indicators as determined by the Infection Control Committee and the Infection Control Consortium of Advocate Health Care as well as to identify the potential for transmission of infection and the ability to control and prevent future infections. Give Infection Control input to committees as needed. Provide Infection Control education to associates and the community. Assist the Employee Health Center with infection control concerns and reports communicable diseases in patients, associates and visitors to the appropriate public health authority as required by law. Assist in Clinical Epidemiological research programs for nursing, medical staff, and ancillary departments.

 

Qualifications

 

Basic computer skills to include spread sheets, Word processing and graphicsAbility to document occurrences in charts and to communicate with large audiences, associates patients and familiesBasic clinical knowledge of CQI, research design, data collection and biostatisticsBachelors Degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Public Health, Epidemiology and/or Biostatistics2 years clinical experience with 3 years of experience in Epidemiology and infection control, or 5 years clinical experience in an acute care settingCurrent RN license in State of Illinois Certification in infection control within five years
