Role Summary

This role is responsible for designing and developing the electrical design data and the system programming for automated industrial equipment.  The designs must ensure the accomplishment of intended functions for larger, more complex systems.  This role is also responsible for managing project designs that satisfy sales scope, coordinating responsibilities, and managing costs of assigned projects.  Projects will consist primarily of material handling systems and custom automation systems.

 Responsibilities

·         Coordinate larger, more complex projects to ensure all electrical design aspects are completed accurately and according to schedule.

·         Responsible for complete system electrical hardware design and software development.

·         Develop physical layout of system, control panels, control stations, schematics, air diagrams, and prepare description of operation with operator responsibilities defined.

·         Development of PLC programs, HMI programs, and interface software.  Includes writing and debugging of programs

·         On-Site system start-up of systems at customer’s facility.

·         Responsible for system training at completion of commissioning.

·         Assume engineering and project management activities including preparation of concise data design, observation and evaluation of controls and hardware based on performance and cost requirements.

·         Coordinate electrical design efforts with mechanical engineers assigned to same projects.

·         Rockwell ControlLogix programming experience a must

·         Must have strong HMI and PC Software skills for industrial applications.

 

Qualifying Criteria

We require:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering BSEE, BSEET, or equivalent education and experience

·         AutoCad experience is a must.

·         PLC Programming

·         PC Hardware & Software

·         Manufacturing Processes

·         Designing electrical systems for automated equipment

·         HMI Project Development

 

We prefer:

·         Engineering principles

·         6+ years experience

·         Proven track record of project success.

 

Willingness to relocate to and commute to Lexington, KY without company assistance is required. You must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
