Controls Engineer specifies, designs, implements and maintains controls systems for manufacturing equipment.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES   Maintains and upgrades existing software/hardware for current/future manufacturing equipment. Creates/maintains documentation for new and existing manufacturing equipment. Provides technical leadership to the manufacturing and maintenance teams. Provides support to manufacturing and maintenance teams to return equipment to production in a timely manner with or without documentation. Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Conceptualizes and takes design concepts to completion. Actively looks for new ways to yield improved efficiencies and reduce costs. Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.   Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies.  Interfaces with production to improve equipment efficiency and safety. Works independently as well as in a team environment.      Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor of Electrical Engineering degreeMinimum 3 years controls experience in a manufacturing environment Strong technical skills and knowledge of of the National Electric Code, OSHA regulations, construction and building codes, and  lean manufacturing processes/procedures required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel and Powerpoint required. Professional verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must have the ability to effectively use electrical instruments such as volt/ohm meter.Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and gages required. Working knowledge of programming languages such as C, BASIC, Ladder logic, Statement list, Function block diagrams. Must have strong project management skills.  Ability to effectively use electrical instruments such as volt/ohm meter.
