Controller

Provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning and budget management functions. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Primary Responsibilities:

Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions Lead implementation of ERP system and migration from current shared services model Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget Oversee daily operations of the corporate finance department and northwest cable network Manage the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to parent company Ensure compliance with local, state and federal budgetary reporting requirements Work with executive and department managers to develop five year business plans for the company Assist with the establishment of accounting policies and procedures at corporate and regional offices Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives Assist with acquisition opportunities including due diligence and financial modeling

Required Skills:

Knowledge of finance accounting, budgeting and cost control principals including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and sate financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product line profitability analysis Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in an industry position Strong business acumen, along with excellent project management, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills. Prior experience with an ERP implementation Strong skills in development of accounting policies and procedures

Highly desired skills:

CPA designation is strongly preferred Prior experience in a media or cable environment
