The Controller Position will be working in a frenetic and fast past Reality Television Company recently acquired by an International company.

The Controller is responsible for the company's accounting function and practices, its policies and procedures including internal controls, establishing and executing sound fiscal policies, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, audit coordination, and budgetary controls and reporting.

 

Essential Functions:

·        Oversee Accounting functions, procedures and policies to include: AP, AR, Payroll, Billing, Credit and Collection, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statement closing, preparation, analysis and financial package. This includes detailed GL account and transaction reconciliations, analysis and research.

·        Liaison between Parent company, and international group controller with Financial Analysis, Planning, and Reporting counterparts.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Prepare monthly financial statement variance of actuals to budget. Reforecast monthly and annual financial projections. Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately

·        Accounting in Accrual method and IFRS reporting of financials by converting from Cash accounting method

·        Responsible for cash flow management and reporting

·        Ensure Billing, Credit and Collections all done in accordance with Best Practices. Minimize outstanding receivables, and minimize Days Sales Outstanding.

·        Spearhead the design and execution of accounting software system conversion

·        Evaluate Chart of Accounts to ensure reflection of financial and operational structure and financial reporting.

·        Coordinate and direct audit preparation and execution.

·        Ensure Internal Control Policies are established and maintained necessary to satisfy audit requirements

·        Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts.

·        Manage vendor relations, leasing documents, payment schedules, equipment reporting/tracking

·        Oversight of weekly payroll process necessary to ensure accurate, efficient and effective processing.

·        Manages fixed asset management, accounting & reporting, depreciation, amortization.

·        Manage Accounting departments for Corporate and TV production

·        Manage Staff of 10-15

Qualifications:

      ·        Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, projections and variance analysis.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Must have attention to detail and possess excellent organizational skills

·        Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred

·        Public Accounting experience preferred. 2-4 years of public accounting experience + 3-4 years corporate experience, 3-4 Years TV production Accounting

·        Must have experience in coordinating and facilitating an audit with external auditors, i.e. preparing schedules, analysis, reports, and internal control evaluation and implementation.

·        Strong management skills

·        Proficiency with Excel, Word, Quickbooks, Outlooksoft, Vista, Global Vista , KODA and general financial accounting systems software.

·        Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley environment preferred.
