An established Manufacturer in Rhode Island/Massachusetts is searching for their next controller.  They hired The Mergis Group to assist them in the search for their next Controller to reinvigorate their growing corporation. This position offers exposure to a variety of accounting, operational, financial, and management responsibilities. This is great for an individual who isn’t afraid of challenge and wants build a strong accounting group.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

We are seeking a keen and proactive leader that has experience ideally has public accounting and manufacturing experience.  This career opportunity has responsibilities that include but not limited:

Managing and developing staff in department. Improves financial management and control by evaluating and redesigning financial systemsKnowledge and experience in cost accounting. Maintain Corporate Controls and comply with SOX requirements  Ability to analyze business controls/processes and recommend improvements. Ensure timely issuance of monthly P&L statements and reports, and accrual reconciliations are performed timely, and recommend accrual adjustments based on this review.  Ad hoc projects, Travel as required. Semi-annual review of Plant Standard Costs, Issuance of monthly plant statements identifying favorable/unfavorable performance. Work closely with plant management to identify causes of variances; implement solutions for short and long term plan strategies.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

·         The qualified candidate will have a BS/BA in Accounting.

·         MBA required or equivalent certifications (CPA or CMA designation).

·         At least 8+ years of manufacturing environment that encompasses cost accounting.

·         Ability to understand process and procedures in regards to internal controls.  

·         Ability to manage people.

·         Comprehension of GAAP.

·         Capable at running sophisticated accounting systems.  

Remarkable compensation package for this Controller position includes but not limited to tuition reimbursement, stock, pension, life, medical, dental, vision, vacation time, sick time, bonus, competitive salary and 401(k).  Salary is commensurate with experience.
